Background/Objectives: Bipolar disorder (BD) is a chronic psychiatric condition associated with substantial emotional and psychosocial burden. Social media platforms provide an opportunity to examine how BD is discussed and emotionally framed outside clinical settings.
Although Spanish-language public discourse on BD remains underexplored, this gap is particularly relevant given that linguistic and cultural factors may influence how mental health conditions are expressed, perceived, and communicated. Understanding these differences is essential for developing culturally sensitive public health strategies, improving mental health literacy, and addressing stigma in diverse populations.
Methods: A retrospective observational study was conducted using Spanish-language tweets referring to BD posted between 2007 and 2023. After preprocessing, 170,411 unique tweets were analyzed. Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) was applied to identify dominant thematic domains, and emotional tone was classified using a RoBERTa-based model adapted from Ekman’s basic emotions. Statistical analyses were performed to examine associations between topics, emotional categories, and the presence of clinical terminology.
Results: Tweet activity related to BD remained low until 2019, followed by a marked increase peaking in 2020 and remaining elevated thereafter. Topic modeling identified seven main themes, predominantly
centered on symptoms, illness-related life crises, social anxiety, help-seeking, and the impact of BD on romantic relationships, while diagnosis- and treatment-related topics were less frequent. Emotional analysis showed a clear predominance of sadness across all topics, accounting for approximately 75% of tweets. Anger, joy, and optimism were present at lower frequencies and varied across thematic domains. Clinical terminology was significantly more common in diagnosis- and treatment-related topics, whereas experiential and affective narratives dominated the remaining themes.
Conclusions: Spanish-language discourse on BD on Twitter is largely characterized by emotional expression and lived experience rather than biomedical language. These findings highlight cultural relevance of social media as a complementary source for understanding public perceptions of BD and underscore the importance of culturally and linguistically specific analyses in digital mental health research.

Nomophobia is an emerging phenomenon with potential effects on mental health and professional performance. In the healthcare field, smartphone use is frequent for both personal and work-related reasons; however, the evidence regarding its prevalence and associated factors is heterogeneous, making it difficult to draw integrated conclusions. This study explores the prevalence of nomophobia and analyzes its relationship with sociodemographic, psychological, and occupational variables among healthcare professionals through a systematic review and meta-analysis. A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines, with the protocol registered with PROSPERO (CRD420261329317). A search was conducted in Web of Science, Scopus, and ProQuest without time restrictions for quantitative observational studies involving healthcare professionals that assessed nomophobia using validated instruments. Data were extracted on sociodemographic characteristics, prevalence, severity, and psychological and occupational associations. A correlational meta-analysis was performed using a random-effects model. Eighteen published studies were included, with sample sizes ranging from 112 to 1,083 participants, mainly nursing professionals. The prevalence of nomophobia was high, generally at mild-to-moderate levels. It was consistently associated with younger age and less professional experience, and showed positive associations with stress, anxiety, fear of missing out, and neuroticism, and negative associations with mindfulness, self-efficacy, well-being, and clinical decision-making. Evidence regarding occupational variables was limited. The meta-analyses indicated a significant association with occupational stress, a negative association with decision-making, and a positive association with well-being. Nomophobia is common among healthcare professionals and is mainly associated with psychological variables relevant to well-being and clinical performance.

Breast cancer remains one of the most prevalent oncological diseases among
women, with its treatment exerting a substantial impact not only on physical
health but also on psychological and social well-being. The present systematic review aims to identify the psychological and social factors that influence
the quality of life (QoL) of women undergoing active breast cancer treatment.
Additionally, it evaluates a range of psychological interventions designed to
improve emotional well-being and compares their effectiveness in addressing
specific psychosocial needs. This systematic review was conducted in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. A comprehensive literature search
was carried out across multiple databases—including Web of Science, Scopus,
Dialnet, and ProQuest—between March 1 and March 27, 2025. The final sample
comprised 15 studies published between 2014 and 2025, encompassing a total
of 1,375 participants. The findings indicate that psychological interventions such
as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and behavioural activation contribute to
significant improvements in emotional well-being and, in many cases, overall
quality of life. However, several methodological limitations were identified across
the reviewed studies, most notably the absence of long-term follow-up assessments and substantial heterogeneity in the measurement instruments employed.
These limitations restrict the comparability of findings and underscore the need
for more rigorous and standardized research designs. In conclusion, psychological interventions constitute a key component in the comprehensive management
of breast cancer. Their systematic integration into healthcare protocols has the
potential to markedly enhance patients’ quality of life, supporting a more holistic
and person-centered approach to oncological care.
