This proposal aims to close the gap in knowledge about the technical and social skills of workers in three key areas such as manufacturing, technology and tourism and hospitality companies in Spain and compare whether there are differences in these skills by sector. The rational prediction is that the type of work is associated with the development of specific skills and the neglect of other skills – technical, social or both – equally or more important for the development of future competitiveness. Two specific objectives are established a) To assess the social and technical skills of a sample of workers from manufacturing industries, technological companies and tourism and hospitality companies, b) To compare the social skills and technological skills in the three groups of workers and detect if are there gaps between them.es
